A one-week field benchmarking campaign will take place immediately prior to the SilviLaser 2027 Conference, bringing together researchers, institutions, and technology providers to acquire and compare 3D data under common forest conditions. Participants will be invited to collect data at selected forest sites using their own laser scanning systems and acquisition approaches, providing an opportunity to assess how different sensors and platforms capture and reconstruct forest structure. Reference datasets, including terrestrial and UAV laser scanning point clouds acquired in advance, will be accurately georeferenced and made available to support consistent comparison and evaluation of the contributed datasets. All acquisitions will follow common georeferencing and quality requirements, with the aim of creating an open, harmonised benchmark dataset for the forest remote sensing community. Further information on participation, technical requirements, data submission, and registration will be announced in due course.
